SMS Terms of Service

CityWide Slingshots Messaging Program

By opting into our SMS program, you agree to receive text messages from CityWide Slingshots related to your vehicle rental experience. These messages may include booking confirmations, rental updates, safety reminders, and customer service communications.

Message Frequency

Message frequency will vary based on your rental activity and service needs.

Opt-Out Instructions

You may cancel the SMS service at any time. To stop receiving messages, text "STOP" to our shortcode. Once you send "STOP," we will send a confirmation message, and you will no longer receive SMS messages from us.

Rejoining Instructions

To rejoin, simply sign up again through our website or contact our team. Once you opt-in again, we will resume sending SMS messages to you.

Privacy and Data Use

We value your privacy. For full details on how your information is collected and used, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties, excluding aggregators and providers of the Text Message services.

Industry Compliance

CityWide Slingshots adheres to all industry standards and carrier compliance requirements, including the CTIA Short Code Monitoring Handbook and TCPA guidelines. Our SMS services are intended solely for operational and service-related communication.

Legal Notice

We comply with all applicable federal and state laws regarding SMS communications. You are responsible for complying with any laws applicable to your use of our services.

Sev-0 Compliance Warning (T-Mobile)

As of February 15, 2024, T-Mobile has enacted fines for prohibited SMS content sent via A2P 10DLC, toll-free, or short code. Messages violating their policy may result in immediate blocking and fines ranging from $500 to $2,000 per incident. Prohibited content includes:

  • Tier 1 ($2,000): Phishing, smishing, social engineering
  • Tier 2 ($1,000): Illegal content (must be federally and state legal)
  • Tier 3 ($500): Content violating SHAFT guidelines (sex, hate, alcohol, firearms, tobacco)

Excessive violations may result in permanent suspension from the T-Mobile network. For full details, please contact us or refer to carrier guidelines.

Rules & Regulations

  1. No Substance Use
    I will not consume alcohol, drugs, or any substances that impair safe operation.
  2. Age Requirement
    I am 25 years or older.
  3. Helmet Use
    I will wear a certified (DOT, SNELL, or ECE) helmet at all times.
  4. Safety Orientation
    I have received a safety orientation on how to safely operate the Product(s).
  5. Obeying Laws & Safe Operation
    I will obey all state and local laws and will not operate the Product(s) in any test, race, contest, or reckless manner.
  6. Tolls & Tickets Responsibility
    I acknowledge that I am responsible for any tolls or tickets during my rental. A $3.95 administrative fee will be charged each day a toll or ticket is incurred, plus the actual cost.
  7. Mileage Limit
    I understand there is a 100-mile daily limit, and I will be charged $1.75 per additional mile.
  8. Geographic Limitations
    I will not leave the five boroughs of NYC or Long Island.
  9. Deposit Forfeiture
    I understand my deposit may be forfeited if any of these rules are broken.

Cancellation Policy

  1. Cancellation Window
    Customers must cancel their reservation at least 7 days prior to their scheduled rental time to be eligible for a full refund.
  2. Refunds
    If a cancellation is made more than 7 days in advance of the rental time, the customer will receive a full refund of any amounts paid. Cancellations made within the 7-day window will result in a forfeiture of the full rental fee.
  3. Method of Cancellation
    Cancellations must be made by directly calling our office during regular business hours. We do not accept cancellations via email, text, or social media platforms.
  4. No-Show
    If you do not show up for your rental and do not cancel according to our policy, no refund will be provided.
  5. Exceptions
    Exceptions to this policy due to emergency situations will be considered on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of management.
  6. Promotional Code Reservations
    All pre-reservations made with promotional codes are subject to 50% refund.
